Strongtooth has a backlog of inventions that require patent applications to be filed,
and we are making these inventions available to law students who have an interest
in pursuing a career in Intellectual Property law. As a participant in the program,
you will have the opportunity to practice your patent application drafting skills
by drafting patent applications for inventions in our queue. You will be free to
use them as writing samples of your work once the application has been published
by the USPTO.
By participating in the program, you will not be representing Strongtooth, nor will
you be practicing patent law in front of the USPTO or any other patent office. After
refining the patent application with you, we will file the patent application with
the USPTO either directly or through outside counsel, and we will handle the prosecution
of the application. You must be an enrolled law student at an accredited U.S. university,
and must be in the U.S. when you prepare the application.
For some applications we will encourage you to also perform a prior art search using
public search utilities and subscription platforms to which we will give you access.
For these applications, you will also prepare Information Disclosure Statements,
and in the case of Accelerated Examinations, an Examination Support Document.
You can apply to be a participant in the program by filling out the form below,
and if you are accepted you will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement
and Invention Assignment Agreement that covers your entire engagement with Strongtooth.
Once you are a registered Student Associate, you can contact us any time to engage
in new patent applications that are on our list (below). You can only work on one
application at a time, and we ask that you submit a first draft of the application
within 2 weeks.
